This Saturday, 11 April 2015, as a curtain raiser to the annual Oxford & Cambridge Men’s Boat Race over 4¼ miles on the Thames, at around 4.10pm (the Men’s Race is at 5.50pm) there will be a “race” between Oxford and Cambridge, in replicas of the boats used for the first O&C Men’s Boat Race in 1829, from Hammersmith to Mortlake over 2¼ miles, which will take about 17 minutes, around the same as the modern boats doing 4¼ miles!!Updates
